The Board informs about events (August 26 – September 8)
The last week of August was rather calm for RP SIA “Rīgas satiksme”, a part of the Board members were in planned absence, and Board member A. Krūze, who is responsible for the company’s development, went on a business trip to Belarus to visit JSC “Bekommunmash”. This company had been a cooperation partner of RP SIA “Rīgas satiksme” for a long time, although its production is no longer a part of RP SIA “Rīgas satiksme” fleet of public transport vehicles. The goal of the trip was to become familiar with the experience of JSC “Bekommunmash” in taking over innovations and manufacturing electric buses.
On August 29, the Procurement Monitoring Bureau announced on its website a procurement for services of a personnel selection company, the task of which would be to provide support to the Council of RP SIA “Rīgas satiksme” in the process of selecting the permanent Board. Personnel selection companies have to submit their offers until 3:00 PM of September 19 at 35, Vestienas Street.
Considering the situation on the labour market and the materials submitted by structural units, on September 3 the Board held an extended meeting. Its main task was to listen to the statement prepared A. Makejeva, the deputy head of the Personnel Management Department in charge of salaries and employment. The Board also listened to the opinions and proposals of sectorial directors and representatives of structural units. It was also established that some of the proposals could be implemented only within the context of changes that are planned in the company.
On September 5, the Board of RP SIA “Rīgas satiksme” held a regular meeting and listened to the report by Communication and Traffic Director E. Zivtiņs about the evaluation by a working group of the possibility to use smaller capacity vehicles on regular public transport routes. The Board accepted the proposal to implement a test project of using smaller vehicles from October 1 until the end of February 2020. It is planned that smaller vehicles will be used in off-peak hours (in the evening etc.) on bus route No. 28. The Board became familiar with the information prepared by A. Makejeva, the deputy head of the Personnel Management Department in charge of salaries and employment, about salaries of public transport drivers and further strategy in this field. It was established that salaries of public transport drivers at RP SIA “Rīgas satiksme” are above the average in the sector, yet it is necessary to plan their increase also next year in order to ensure competiveness. The Board also took the long-expected organisational decisions, yet information about these decisions will be provided later because for the time being the document has the status of limited access and preparations also need to be made before.
